This was a good book about the author’s travels in Malta and I was pleased to see that it was accompanied by a lot of photos. I found myself wishing that the photos were in color on my Kindle, so they could really highlight the nation’s beauty, but they were all in black and white. I enjoyed the bits of history sprinkled in to show where the nation started. There was one about the soldiers from the Ottoman Empire coming to try and invade Malta, but they were defeated. Instead of sending back word that Malta had a strong army that defeated them, they instead sent back “Malta Yok” – Malta doesn’t exist. There were also some grammar and capitalization errors in the book like how they refer to the “God Seth” but “goddess Isis” or how one location is written as Saint Peter’s Pool and Saint Peter’s pool. There are also times that the word “the” is missing such as in the phrase “in favor of country that…”. However, despite the errors, it was still a pretty good read, just it needed another edit to ensure that all the spelling and grammar was correct.
